Am i overreacting: Blades facing up?

My husband is constantly washing sharp objects (knives, peelers, etc.) and placing them sharp side up in the drying rack, where we also keep the kitchen towel. We have 2 going kids (5 and 7). I say it's dumb af to put blades facing up where anyone can get cut. He says I'm overreacting. Thoughts please?
