I'm dealing with a depressive episode and feel like I'm burdening my partner
So, I (23M) am currently going through a rougher depressive episode than usual. I've been diagnosed with manic depressive disorder since I was a teen, and usually I can push through decently well. I'm not okay during these episodes, but in a weird way, I'm used to them and know what I need to do to get through them.
However, this one is one of the worst episodes I've had in a few years. I don't find joy in anything, I've lost my appetite, I'm exhausted all the time, etc. I'm currently unemployed due to a disability I'm still working on adjusting my day-to-day life around (it heavily effects my mobility and causes a lot of pain), so since I can't really contribute to stuff like rent, I do the chores and stuff around the house while my partner (27NB) is at work.
Before anyone says anything, this is something my partner and I both discussed and are happy with as I work on finding a job that I'm both qualified for and is able to work with me regarding my disability. I didn't just quit a job without talking to them, or make them be the only one bringing in any income. I do stuff like DoorDash or Shipt to still pay for things on occasion, so not everything falls on my partner.
With this depressive episode though, I've found it impossible to keep up with chores like I usually do. I can barely make myself eat, much less do chores. I manage to do a few things still, like do dishes and other small things, but I know it's not as much as usual. I'm really behind on laundry, the bathroom needs a deep clean, the stove is in need of a cleaning, recycling needs to go out, etc.
My partner works hard to provide for both of us, and I'm so appreciative of what they do. I don't want the chores to fall on their shoulders, but all I want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep for the next month. I'm so tired, no matter how much (or how little) sleep I get. I wish I could just freeze time for a bit so I can chill out, pull myself together, and not burden anyone else with my mess in the process.
I try and push myself to do more like I have with past episodes of mine, but it feels like it's not enough this time. I know people have been in similar situations as me, so please help a guy out. What eventually motivated you enough to do the things you need to get done? How can I do my fair share of things so I'm no longer adding stress for my partner? Genuine advice is greatly appreciated.
