Did I mess up by not getting a brake fluid exchange?

Question

2023 Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic.

Went in for my 20k mile service (Service B - basically oil change, filter change, inspection, and typically a brake fluid exchange).

Sat in the lobby when they came out about 3 hours later saying the car was being finished up, but then they asked me if I wanted to do the recommended brake fluid exchange, which would be about another 45-60 mins. I thought this was standard practice as part of the Service B anyways, so I was kind of annoyed they brought it up to my attention so much later as an additional task.

I was rather sleep deprived and crabby (only slept 2 hours after just finishing 3 12-hour overnights at the hospital), so I declined as I really just wanted to go home and sleep.

I figured I would do it during my next Service A, but now I’m paranoid I kind of messed up not getting it done? I’ve only had the car for about 1 year and 3 months (got it new), but drive a lot of miles (~16k/year). It’s garage kept and most miles are freeway. I live in the Midwest so I know it can get a little humid during summers…

Am I just being paranoid? I hate feeling that I put off a factory recommended maintenance part… I just figured I get a service done like every 9 months anyways so not sure what it would harm…?
