Thought I was in the Clear
I have the 9800x3d, and last night I was gaming as usual, and all of a sudden everything froze, and the CPU fault light was on my motherboard (x870 steel legend wifi), and I had to unplug it to cut power. Tried clearing cmos and removing the battery, but nothing worked, so I'm assuming that my CPU got fried.
I thought I would be fine because I built my PC a little over 2 months ago and was only on the bad BIOS for a little bit before updating to BIOS 3.26, which, as I understood, fixed some of the issues with the ASRock motherboards and the 9800x3ds. I was on 3.26 for a while until yesterday, when I updated to 3.30. I set up all my BIOS settings and enabled PBO and undervolted to -15, which seemed to work fine since I had no crashes or stutters, or any issues. Then, later that same day, what I wrote above happened. Not sure if it was the BIOS that killed it because I read that 3.30 was a full fix for the 9800x3d issue, or if my CPU somehow got damaged before and was slowly dying until yesterday, but either way, I now need to file my RMA claims, I guess.
Any support and recommendations for the RMA process would be much appreciated. Thank you.
