Can I use Apple Home Key + Google Home? Do I need an Apple Home Device?

Hey guys, so I have Google Home for most of my smart devices at home.

But I use Apple Watch and an iPhone so I really want an Apple Home Key lock, but I don't own any Apple Home Hub devices. Will this be an issue for this lock?

Thanks, also how reliable has Level Lock+ been? Some people say it's less reliable than the Schlarge or Yale.
