Hello, my name is Mikey. I am 27, currently enrolled in a PhD program for philosophy. I am also a musician. I like philosophy (especially French continental philosophy), literature, politics, and history. I am learning French principally because I love the language and the culture. However, I also hope to write my dissertation on French philosophy, specifically Deleuze, so I need to learn French to do research in the original language. I also believe it is important to learn a new language to expand your ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.

I hope I can find someone to practice speaking French with while I can also help them improve their English, ideally splitting up audio calls into two halves (for both languages) so it can remain fair. I am currently somewhere in the B1-B2 range when it comes to my French level. Texting would also be nice for writing practice if you'd like. Bonus if you are into philosophy.
