Microneedling: Good idea or bad?

I have a microneedling appointment later this month. I've never had it done before. Curious to hear from those who have gotten it done professionally... is it a good idea or a bad one? I'm seeing some disaster story comments on here about it but I'm not sure if that's just when you try it at home? This is at a professional med spa. I like the idea of the benefits it could give my skin but if there's too much risk, I'd rather just cancel my appointment.

For context: I don't have any huge skin concerns, just curious to improve the texture of my skin. I do have some areas on my face where I have pretty large pores and I saw that microneedling can potentially minimize them. But I also don't want to walk away with scars or bigger pores and a worse situation... eek! Help!

And another question, how long did it take for you to look "normal"/recover from it?
