“Heroine”

Here’s a dedicated poem I have written for Sleeping with Siren’s song “Heroine” back in 2015 :))

.

Heroine

.

Dear Heroine, are you my saviour?

Could you share more of your savour?

.

Your taste, your touch, your scent—intense,

I beg for more ’til I collapse, past defence.

.

With you, the night’s always pure bliss.

Without you, the day’s always amiss.

.

You lift me up, then watch me drown,

An angel who smiles while I go down.

.

Yet I worship you, I follow, I crave,

Each step, a dance towards my grave.

.

I may have fallen far too deep,

But only you cradle me to sleep.

.

But even angels like you can deceive.

When the sun rises, you always leave.

.

The longest daylight drags like pain,

As if midnight won’t come again.

.

And when you return, as always, I forget—

A longing lingers, but you and I never met.

.
