🌟 My Journey: From Rejection to Resilience 🌟

General BPO Discussion

Back in 2009, I faced tough competition in the BPO world. I applied to almost 15 companies around Ortigas and Makati—lahat palpak. Until one day, I finally got hired with a ₱12,500 salary. No experience, no connections—just pure determination.

It wasn’t easy. I struggled at first, especially seeing my batchmates adjusting faster than me. But I chose to embrace my job, kahit hindi ko dream job ‘yon. And guess what? I stayed in that company for 4 years.

Then in 2013, I shifted to a new BPO. From telco to financial account, with a slight pay increase to ₱14,500. I worked hard, gave my best, and slowly, promotions started to come—Agent, QA, Team Lead, Senior TL, then Operations Manager. I didn’t even realize how far I’d come.

I spent 11 years in that company until, sadly, it faced financial issues and laid off 300+ employees—including me.

That broke me.

I tried applying again for Ops Manager roles but competition was tough, and jobs were limited. I lost hope, struggled with depression and anxiety, and needed medication just to cope.

But I kept reminding myself: This is not the end.

I accepted a new opportunity—kahit hindi na same level as before—because I knew what mattered most was solving my problems and protecting my peace of mind. No regrets. I’m grateful because little by little, my drive and passion are coming back.

To everyone out there reading this, especially my teammates:

👉 Treasure your job, even when it gets tough. 👉 Every role, every challenge, teaches you something. 👉 Be patient with yourself—progress isn’t instant.

Keep learning, keep growing, and above all, keep moving forward.

Someday, you’ll look back and realize—“Wow, ang layo na pala ng narating ko.”
