I have finished all the books and now my life isn’t the same!

SpoilerDiscussion

This isn’t super spoiler heavy but I do want to give some of my overall thoughts now that I’ve finished the series. While I didn’t love every single aspect of ZA, I couldn’t put this series down! It gave me everything I wanted:

  • Great FMCs. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I really liked the Vega twins and following their stories. Especially Darcy because she reminded me of myself in a lot of ways. Also TWINS! When I was in middle school, I had an obsession with reading the classic Sweet Valley High books so discovering that ZA centered around twin sisters got me hooked instantly.

  • The incorporation of fantasy elements like astrology, nature, mythological creatures, and magic. Basically all of my favorite things combined. I would love to read more books that center around astrology.

  • Drama upon drama. At times these books were definitely spiking my anxiety and testing my willpower but overall I appreciate that I never knew what the hell to expect even at the very end. I see these books get compared to CW shows and I think that’s so true just with more mature themes and emotional levity. Very much my taste 😆

  • The MMCs. Ngl I didn’t think I was going to like the Heirs at all because they didn’t appeal to me at first. But getting to know more of their lore and the way they became eventual allies for the twins endeared me to them. I had a personal enemies to endeared appreciation for Seth by the end. I attribute like 70% of my laughing moments to him.

  • Lance Orion. Gahhh this man. A little psychotic but that made me adore need him even more. Could not blame Darcy for her obsession with that man because same girl. I’m gonna need more books with relationships similar to bluelance because they really became my comfort couple. I reread their scenes a lot. The pool scene? ARGHHHH!!!

  • Darius Acruix. Another chef’s kiss. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect man for Tory. His growth was really great to read and he’s honestly hilarious. The way he couldn’t remember certain people’s names and how territorial he got over gold/jewels killed me 🤣

  • The multiple POVs. While I don’t think every character needed a POV cough Daddy Acruix cough I do like how these books avoided the unreliable narrator situation by helping see things through the lens of different characters.

  • The romance and smut. All of it was just so good. I did not expect to get threesomes but I was not complaining one bit!

  • The friendships!! I loved the natural development of the different friendships and found family aspect of the story. It just made me love everyone even more. It was also a pleasure getting to see the Ruthless Boys play a significant role too.

Now I don’t know what to do with myself. I think I’m gonna start on Never Keep but I’ve also been hunting for book recs similar to ZA. I didn’t think I’d devour a 9+ book series in just 2 months but that’s how much I enjoyed it. If you guys have any recs that give the same vibes of ZA I will gladly appreciate it! Is anyone else as in love with this series as I am?
