Student food stamps

Hello,

I am a grad student who qualified for work study (should fall under exception). In my interview i stated I was working work study and provided photo of my work study award as proof and placed that under income. I was approved based off of that info. Now they never placed me into a job to actually work so I never got paid. I recently stopped the benefits cause I felt wrong collecting it.

I guess my question is could I get in trouble for this? If so when would they give me a notice of overpayment or review? It’s been about two weeks since requesting closure and my account was officially closed.
