Wondours Resin effect bug?

Hey people, to cut matters short, a thief stole a shock wand from me, and I used the staff to kill it, after hitting it with a fishing spear.

I have a wondours resin +2, and it turned the thief into a sheep. But my shock wand disappeared.

Is this supposed to happen? The fishing spear dropped as normal, under the sheep.
