It’s hard to put into words how heavy it feels to watch videos of people — ordinary people, families, kids — getting gunned down or blown up while they’re just trying to find food. Not weapons. Not causing harm. Just trying to survive.
You see them waiting in line for flour, walking to aid trucks, holding bags of rice — and then everything turns to chaos. Gunfire. Drones. Airstrikes. Bodies on the ground. It’s not a battlefield — it’s a breadline.
No one should have to risk their life just to eat.
It’s not political when someone dies reaching for food. It’s not complicated when children are starving to death and still being targeted. This is beyond war. This is human cruelty in its rawest form — and the world is watching it happen in real time.
What’s even worse is the numbness creeping in. People scroll past it like it’s just another headline. But these are lives, families, people who loved and were loved. People who deserve the same peace and safety we take for granted.
It shouldn’t be controversial to say: Let them live. Let them eat. Let them be.
