Blues fall 3-0 away at Lionsbidge, all but end hopes of postseason berth
If the fat lady isn’t singing, she’s all but warmed up. A frustrating but not unexpected result for the boys tonight. This game was a microcosm of this season so far, team hasn’t fully gelled, moments of brilliance and moments that made you go “huh?”. At the end of the day, Lionsbridge is just the better club right now and it really showed tonight.
I don’t want to pile on because I don’t think we really played all that poorly, we just weren’t good enough. Losing Brady five minutes in was an absolute backbreaker, offense looked lost once again and we just looked slow, slow on our runs, slow with our decision making, slow to shoot. I think this offseason there really needs to be an emphasis on speeding this club up, working at a faster pace, the competition is bigger, faster, stronger at this level and we need to adapt
Was I crazy that Luke Dunn got in tonight? I swear they said it on the stream, we have desperately missed him this year. I really think another issue is we “graduated” a ton of our guys and were missing some key pieces from last year, offense just isn’t the same.
Had plenty of chances tonight, just couldn’t get it done. Feels like we’ve been a bit unlucky too, also not sure what it’s going to take to get a call our way but insane we weren’t awarded a PK in the 70th, even the broadcast team thought it was missed
Hoping the fellas can close out the season strong and maybe by some miracle we sneak in.
Either way, it’s been a great first year, an exciting year and I am pumped to see how the club responds and reloads for next year.
