Is It Difficult To Start An Iron Warriors Army In 40K?

I want to start an Iron Warriors army but it is annoying me that I have to get chaos space marines and then turn them into Iron Warriors rather than them having their own dedicated models. This is making me debate whether or not I should play Iron Warriors, so I would like to know if this really makes playing them that much more difficult.
