Unpopular opinion:

❗Discussion / Rants

I think that taboo things like serious topics such as domestic violence, abuse, depression, self harm and even suicide or others are acceptable UNDER TWO CONDITIONS.

They are explored respectfully, understandingly along with research done on the topic.

They are kept away from younger children by providing warnings on the media, keeping the content 13+ age restriction if a video on youtube, and in specific spaces for that. A creator cant be expected to do more provide warnings and keep it away from kids as best they can. At the end of the day, its up to the parents if they wanna actually supervise their child on the big wide web, not the job of the creator.

I feel this way because i think it’s super unfair to restrict all serious, uncomfortable topics from the entire community ESPECIALLY when most of that community is made up of older teens and adults. Yes, there are kids in the gacha community (which is why such content should be age restricted) but that doesn’t mean they entire community should cater to their presence.

I constantly see people get shamed on subs like Gacha Cringe, even if the creator is clearly old enough and they provided warnings. Its simply not fair in my opinion. So many interesting and meaningful stories could be created if the community was more accepting of the topics.

(P.s. Sorry if this has already been discussed. its 2 am. This has been on my mind. IDK if it even makes sense. Please take and consider my word vomit. K thanks. Gonna go to bed now.)
