Algae problem

My tank has completely been taken over by algae. There's multiple kinds of it, it's on everything but the fish. I do weekly cleanings and water changes, I've tried algaefix, scrubbing it all off the whole tank, idk what to do. It's killed 3 plants and I'm starting to become frustrated. My fish is still healthy and well and for now the water levels are good but I'm worried if this keeps going it will affect my fish.

Can I put shrimp in or another type of fish or maybe a snail? Is there anything that I can do to try to save this tank or should I just start a new one and transfer my beta? It's a single male beta in a 6 gallon tank.
