I need help!!
I am currently enrolled in Semester 3 of the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, and I recently became aware that our nursing program is under probationary status with the accrediting body. I understand that past issues regarding academic integrity and accreditation may have contributed to this, and while I may not have all the details, I believe it is important to be proactive in understanding how this could affect my licensure and future career in nursing. To my knowledge they lost accreditation around 2016 and regained it in 2018 under a probationary period.
I am reaching out for clarification and guidance on a few concerns and potential next steps:
Is the program still recognized by the Florida Board of Nursing and eligible to allow graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN? Licensure Implications If the program remains on probation or loses accreditation again, will I still be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN upon graduation? Would taking the NCLEX-PN after this semester (Semester 3) be a viable and secure interim step to ensure I have a professional license, in case of further complications?
If I choose to transfer to another accredited nursing program in Florida, will my completed credits transfer, given the school’s current probationary status? Are there any articulation agreements or recommended pathways for transferring students to ensure a smooth transition?
Would you recommend that students nearing graduation continue in the program or begin exploring alternative options?
I’m committed to completing my nursing education and entering the workforce as a well-prepared RN. However, I want to ensure that I’m making the most informed and secure decisions regarding my licensure and future academic progress. I would hate to complete this course just to not be able to sit on my or not be able to transfer all of my classes, because then it would just be a waste of time and money and I’d have to start school completely over. Just looking for guidance and help. I am currently using my GI Bill and to my knowledge they wouldn’t let me start college at a school that wouldn’t allow me to graduate and enter the workforce (to my knowledge which was told to me by the GI Bill rep from the VA
