Metlife stadium hotels

I see there's a bunch of hotels around the edge of the Meadowlands complex, and maps says it takes an hour or more to walk to any of them, is this true? Or is maps just showing weird routes? Can you go to an event at the stadium and walk to one of the nearby hotels quickly and safely? Preparing for Oasis next month, Thanks for any information.
