He's buying me a new vacuum!

Vacuum recommendations needed:

3 bedrooms with carpet Dogs in the house Not too big or too heavy (I want to want to vacuum) Preferably canister, or at least easy to change/clean

Back story! I'm in my 20s, but I grew up with hand-me-down Filter Queen, a Rainbow, and a Kirby. They performed great but they were heavy or difficult to roll or difficult to store. We just bought a house with little room for storage. My fiance left my old little Bissell behind and told me he'd buy me a new vacuum. He wanted a Dyson but I've used those as a caregiver. The stick is unbalanced and doesn't suction great. The canister is too heavy and hurts my shoulders. I told him I've heard that there is a vacuum Reddit and that I would get your recommendations.
