Austin Visitor Recommendations - Australians

I'm heading to Austin next week with my partner, this is her first time in the States and my first time in Texas. We're staying in a hotel downtown near the Capitol building.

What are the quintessential attractions that will give us the full experience? Or places to avoid?

• Barton Springs and surrounding
• 6th Street
• The legend of 45th and Lamar for the frostiest margs
