Should I ask my ex and her husband on why they lied?

So eight years ago I M37 got divorced. me and my ex F33 both got remarried but at the time I left a few pairs of shoes inside our old place. Jordans that are now worth $1200 and some other track shoes and sneakers. And every time I asked her, she said she doesn’t know where it is and she can’t find them.

I had my daughter for the last three nights and on the second night she mentioned hey Dad, I think Marc threw out your Jordans. What did they look like and I told her and she said oh he probably threw them down the street in a dumpster.

Today while dropping her and her brother off, I thought to myself hey I’ll check the dumpster real quick and see if my missing shoes are there and let it behold five pairs of shoes were there two pairs of Jordans Jordan 16s and Jordan 5s. I got the 16s with the 7 as part of the 23 Jumpman countdown pack. But I always remembered I never threw out my fives and 16s which were weird but anyways I’m happy to find them now I had to go dumpster diving which really pissed me off on my way out from dropping the kids off.

Anyways, I’m wondering once I cool off should I text or call my ex wife and her husband and see why they threw my shoes out?

My first question would be: hey did you throw out a few pairs of shoes?

just to test the waters if they will be truthful or not my guess is they won’t because I mean they deserve each other.
