Struggling with this Evolution

As like many of you, I'm really struggling with evolution not just because of the verrrrry long Voight storyline but with what they've done to tje characters.

I really don't like Penelope, her hair, style, childishness and her lack of smartness this season has ripped away everything I loved about her for 15 season. Yes, she was always a bit neive but I liked that her lair was colourful, full of cutesy things and brought a warmth and safety to her with the horrible things she saw on those screens.

The Tyler/Garcia/Luke love triangle is ridiculous. The writers not making Garvez a thing after season 15 was the wrong move, it would've brought a different relationship to the show that could've been explored beautifully.

I love Emily, she's been my favourite since she first appeared in season 2 but I they've written her character wrong. What do you mean she has a sister and father? I understand that with all she's had done to her in her time at the bau she'd be over it, but she lacks no fight anymore.

Rossi, JJ and Tara are probably the three that have stayed similar. JJ has been through a lot but who she is now we've seen many times previously. Same as Rossi, seeing Voight is the same as how he spiralled after Lynch.

And Emily, Penelope and Taras hair is annoying me too. The actresses do it beautifully when seeing them on insta, but their hair stylist isn't doing them any wonders.

Why are they not smart enough anymore? Why are they relying on Voight all of a sudden? The old BAU wouldn't need to work with the killer / physchopath.

I know it seems like I have lots to pick on, which I do, but I still love that the characters are back and will continue to watch because of them, but I think this could have gone a very different way. I'll still watch it but when I do my binge sessions, will probably stop at 15.

Also, the lighting is shit. I shouldnt have to sit in the dark to see whats happening.
