Gathered items from expeditions are not making it back to my item box

I just did 4 separate expeditions where I was searching for firecell stones. I gathered multiple during each expedition, but for some reason only 2 made it back to my item box after completing the expedition.

What the absolute fuck. Is this some well-known bug? There's nothing that uses these for auto-crafting, I checked that. What is going on.
