ER Doctor Said To “Stay the Course” Despite Lip Infection Worsening Every Day

TLDR: I’m a chronic lip skin picker and noticed my 2 year old healed lip piercing was sore and inflamed so i took it out. The next day I noticed the picked spots started getting discolored so I went to Urgent Care for antibiotics. They prescribed me Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg 2x daily & Mupirocin 2%. Lip and gums worsen the next day so I go to ER and get prescribed Cefadroxil 500mg 2x daily. Two days later and my lip worsens even more drastically as well as spread to more of my gums, tongue, and top lip so I go back to ER. They did blood tests, gave me fluids, and did a swab culture and told me to “stay the course” and that my lip should heal within 2 weeks. I’ve been taking my 4 antibiotic pills every day as well as applying the topical antibiotic but am now worried about permanent disfigurement since it only gets worse by the day. :(
