Laser Hair Removal - Normal?

Hi! I've been going in for sessions of full body laser every 6 weeks. I'm seeing great results. Today, the lady did my upper lip (I forgot to remind her I was sensitive) and when they got to my cupid's bow area, I felt as if I was drowning? Is there water or steam that went up my nose or what could this have been? It was a weird sensation!
