Later chapters with more views?

Quick question -

So, I've recently added two chapters to my book simultaneously. The morning after I did, I check the stats, and while they both did well overnight, the second chapter out of the two has almost double the reads. How does that work?

Do people not read stuff in order?

I might be dumb, but though I'd ask. Thanks!
