PLZ ALLOW ME TO INDULGE IN DELU-LU FOR A SEC

This movie is legit living rent free in my head and I'm not sure if anyone has said anything about this theory I have!

Today I've developed this crazy theory about Gwi-Ma and his soul consumption obsession. I was thinking about how crazy it was that Kpop Demon Hunters is classified as a kid's movie on Netflix even though a crap ton of people died and got eaten by some crazy demon god.

I mean, there was a scene where a reporter is talking about how many people were mysteriously disappearing. An entire train full of people disappear. Even our Rujinu fangirl got snatched by the demons! Pretty dark, huh?

But then I started thinking, what if the people whose souls were eaten didn't die. I noticed that in the scene where Jinu sacrifices himself and reclaim his soul, his soul flies out of the firey blob that is Gwi-Ma.

What if when Gwi-Ma eats a person's soul, they don't die, but instead they become a demon? And what if, like in Jinu's case, a demon can potentially reclaim their soul back from Gwi-Ma?

What makes a person into a demon is giving into their shame. I think we see the beginning of this process before the Saja Boy's final performance. Bobby, Mira, and Zoey give into their shame and are lured to the concert where our favorite demon boy band and Gwi-Ma was.

I think that this theory just reinforces Rumi's belief that not all demons are bad. They were just people who gave into their shame and perhaps they have the ability to reclaim their souls from Gwi-Ma.

I feel like at the end of the movie (as great as it is), they left this stone unturned. In fact, they left us on such an insane cliff hanger.

In my opinion, THIS COULD BE A GREAT SET UP FOR A SEQUEL!!! I NEED CLOSURE.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS, BUT I NEED A SEQUEL. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S UP WITH RUMI'S PARENTS. I NEED MORE HUNTRIX, JINU, AND SAJA BOYS!!!
