mattie and amara age gap

I’ve followed mattie (@westbrouck) for a while and I see them posting a lot about their gf amara (@aamarajunee) and I thought they were cute together ! but I looked amara up and shes 20, and mattie is 24. ok maybe not a huge deal, except they’ve been together since amara was 18 and mattie was 22… thats freshly legal. in fact I think they met when she wasn’t even 18 yet. 20 and 24 is all in all fine, but 18 and 22 is in nope territory for me. and they live together too, and have for a while, so it seems like amara moved out of her parents house and right in with mattie?

to be clear my issue isn’t that the age gap is 4 years, thats totally fine and if they got together now at 20 and 24 I probably wouldn’t care at all, but its the fact that they started dating when mattie was 22 and amara was still a teenager. idk.

they don’t get a lot of age gap comments/questions and no one seems to talk much or care about it, but I’m so curious how the people in their lives feel about this? like do amara’s also-yound friends just not have the life experience yet to understand why thats weird? and as for mattie, if I was 22 and my friend started dating someone who might still be in high school I’d tell them they were being a creep and to knock it off
