Pediatric specialties
I've noticed that a lot of people on here seem to use comments like "I bet he/she wants to be a pediatric ____" when negatively talking about someone (usually "neurotic" premeds).
My question is, is it wrong to want to go into a pediatric specialty as a premed? Do people view it negatively?
I personally have a big interest in pediatric neurosurgery (due to both personal experience and shadowing experience) and have always been interested in pretty much anything neurology. I plan to shadow and volunteer in other departments (both adult and pediatric) and keep my options open, as I know I could always find other interests. Would people view me negatively just because I say I'm interested in that specialty?
