Satellite GPS?

Instead of using the linked cell phone based GPS system, are there any OM or compatible options for satellite based GPS?

My old camera system has that, and it's nice to be far away from cell phone networks or days into a remote wilderness trip, and get all location information embedded in my photos. Latitude, longitude, elevation, and orientation/direction. It's nice to know where I was standing, what my elevation was, and which way I was pointing the camera, when I took the photo.
