Odd growth on arm that's been around for 14yrs but had recently grown/become raised.
Okay here's the details: In 2011 I noticed a slightly raised, very small, patch of skin on my left forearm. Like barely raised. And it was the same color as my skin. I ended up accidentally scratching it off and didn't think about it again for years. Several years later I see the spot coming back and I just scraped it off again. Now, over the winter, I noticed the spot coming back again. I didn't want to scratch it off again. And I wore long sleeves all the time so I just never thought about it.
Then in late May it became too warm to wear long sleeves and I noticed the growth was actually more raised that before. Still the same color as the rest of my skin. It's mostly symmetrical other than a small dot to one side. It looks discolored in the photos because I am unfortunately a skin picker and can't help but constantly touch it because I'm so embarrassed and grossed out by it. The dark spots are dots of dried blood. I've pinched the growth and there seems to be no feeling.
And just an FYI the red on my skin on two sides of the ugly growth is because I've been covering the growth with a bandaid and over the last 2 days it was really hot and I noticed today that I had a heat/sweat rash under the bandaid.
And yes I do plan on seeing someone. I don't have a primary care doc and I'm in the middle of trying to move so I'm just trying to deal with everything. This sounds stupid but how should I go about getting this checked when I don't have a primary care doc?
