46 [M4F] #NY - Summer experiences and fun

I sit here alone on this night before the 4th of July knowing that summer is here. I am comfortable in my own skin, I do plenty of things by myself, and I've taken solo trips. I enjoy my time alone, but there are certain times and certain activities when it's best to have good company. I'm looking for a friend or more to do and experience things with!

I enjoy traveling of all kinds (whether road or plane trips), exploring cities, quaint towns, historical sites, museums, and scenery; hiking and other things outdoors; board and card games (mostly classics, but open to trying newer ones); watching MLB and NFL games; and reading about a number of different topics, including news, current events, politics, weather, and travel.

Here are several examples of what I would like to do this summer:

• Go on a trail, enjoy being in nature, and savor an overlook or waterfall
• Take a drive on the open road
• Explore a sight, and have some good food
• Go see a fireworks display
• Enjoy a gorgeous summer night (where the weather is good) along with the stars in a dark night sky, or do something indoors in air conditioning if it's warm and humid
• Have deep conversations and really connect

Cigarette smoking is a dealbreaker for me. I'm not 420 friendly, although it's okay if you partake as long as you can hang out with me without having to smoke. Good hygiene is essential, as is being STI free (should we go in that direction). And I hate to say this, but please don't waste my time if you can't have an adult conversation and tell me that you aren't emotionally available or that it just isn't working out...I can't stand ghosting. I know it happens to everyone, but that doesn't make it any more pleasant to deal with.

I welcome a healthy debate, even with those with different views than my own, and I can even get along with people with opposing views. But if you think that the "megabill" that passed today is good for the country, we are unlikely to be compatible.

I live in the NYC area, but I am willing to travel to see someone I connect with, and as I mentioned, I love going to new places, so feel free to reach out even if you are elsewhere!
