Best bang for your buck regulator, bcd, dive computers.

Hello all,

I am looking to buy my first set of gear and am unsure of what I should be looking at. I have done some research but lots of people recommend apeks for regulators, shearwater for computers, and haven’t looked at much for bcds yet. I’m not sure I want to spend north of 1000 for my regulator but I also don’t want to buy a piece of junk.

Is there any cheap, but solid gear for just starting out?

The coldest I dive is around 50° F, freshwater only unless I’m on vacation.
