Dove Intense Repair turned me into a grease pit

I saw this shampoo recommended here and since I love a good bargain I bought the big size. However after a few washes it felt like it was stuck in my hair and caused horrible greasiness and product buildup. I remember some people saying to use a clarifying shampoo once a week along with this, so I assumed it might cause some buildup, but it was extreme. Never had this issue with a shampoo before as my hair is usually not picky.

Has anyone else experienced this? Not mad—I can just give it to my bf—but curious!
