Applying for disability/ EI

Success/Celebration

Took a few hours and a ton of back and forth cross-checking, but I have an in-person primary care reference submitted to see if I’m eligible for the DTC, which would be the baseline of any disability benefits I further seek/need. (1-3 weeks)

I applied for employment insurance, to help me during the summer as there’s less work under my current job. On top of it already being hard to work concurrent, long hours. Emailed my jobs HR to update my ROE online. Just need a medical certificate.

I then after months, or possibly years depending how you look at it, signed myself up for a primary doctor. Since my old one retired. So I either get the reference first or the doctor first, which would possibly do two in one. I was hoping to get any disability documentation to go towards my ei claim but it’d take too long and summers already started.

Tons of thoughts and feelings. Many conflicting perspectives. Feels like I’m suddenly like “oh yeah I’m disabled now” but I know it’s not like that and rather me slowly recognizing how hard it is for me and compared to the “typical” person. The “imposter syndrome” feelings are starting to get better on the medication, as I understand symptoms more and recognize how ADHD has been/is affecting me. The past so many years since I was a teenager have been rough for a reason. I just finally have something to point at besides being overly anxious. But we’ll see.

Wasn’t really sure what to flair this. Closest I could get was celebration. Doesn’t seem like much but got a lot done today. And I hope it’s all on the right track for me and what I need.
