What about stop killing controllers?
PlayStation was known for their backwards compatibility and value doubling as media players but these days I feel like they have lost their way with controller compatibility.
This is especially important when coming from a fighting game background where the barrier of entry is already so high to play in a tournament but now you have to have a ps5 certified controller or a dual sense 5 that only work om ps5 games.
I think the most egregious part is allowing ds4 controllers to work perfectly and natively and then they just decide to turn it off so you have to buy their newest product to play.
I've had friends not compete because they refused to pay 80 bucks for a converter especially when there's a feeling there would be extra latency (even if there wasn't).
I understand that you could be missing out some things in certain games and it should give a notification if the controller wasn't supported for whatever features in a game, but a blanket disable goes beyond belief for me.
Lastly something surprising is that I was playing an old fighting game on ps3 and every peripheral I plugged into it just worked perfectly. Ds4, ds5, kitsune, old arcade sticks, no setup or configuring required.
You can do Bluetooth for ds4 but it doesn't work quite right.
I wish they would revert this philosophy, they feel like apple now.
