Can I still get a battery replacement for a mid-2015 Macbook Pro?

Hi, apologies if this is a dumb question, I'm finding mixed answers online.

I have a retina, 15", mid-2015 Macbook Pro. My understanding is it's obsolete, or about to become obsolete this month since it was discontinued in July 2018.

It works perfectly, I have no issues with it at all and am not looking to upgrade yet nor can I really afford it, but the battery is swelling. The Macbook gives no indication of it going bad (there's no service recommended message, condition reads as normal), and performance hasn't gone down at all. But it's noticeably swelling. The laptop's front "feet" don't quite touch the table anymore as the battery is pushing it up slightly.

I've read that obsolete laptops can still get battery replacements for up to ten years after last distribution as long as parts are still available. I talked to Apple support and I was told this is only if the specific Apple store I go to has the battery on hand at their location, and that obsolete laptops can't be mailed out for battery replacements. Is this really true? I had another battery replacement done years ago and my Apple store had to mail it out, they said they couldn't do the battery replacement in store. Does this mean I'm out of luck? Is there any other way to find out? The last time I tried calling them I got redirected to some other customer support with someone who didn't work there. It's a bit of a drive and I'd rather not make an appointment and go there only to be told it can't be done.

And if I can't get a replacement this way, are there any recommendations for 3rd party battery replacement? Thank you in advance.
