2-in-1 vs very large tablet
I recently bought a Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra to replace my Galaxy Tab S9+. I intend to use it mainly for media consumption and game emulation, mostly while out of town. I'm considering getting rid of my laptop (2022 ROG Zephyrus G14) and using the tablet for remote work as well, connected to my home desktop computer when I'm traveling (with an external mouse and keyboard). The Tab S9+ is a little too small to comfortably get work done, and the Tab S10 Ultra screen is a little bigger than that of my laptop so I figure it'd be a good 2 device replacement.
I paid a little over $700 for the Tab S10 Ultra, and that got me thinking about getting an OLED 2-in-1. A built in keyboard would be nice, running Windows would give me the option of working locally if I didn't have good internet while traveling (I mainly use Autodesk products), and a X86 system would provide better game emulation performance in general. Also, I feel like most 2-in-1's in very low power mode would last hours longer vs a tablet when simply consuming media (streaming from various services and some local video playback). I travel 8-10 times per year and usually work at least a little while traveling.
I guess my question is, has anybody made the transition from tablet to 2-in-1 or vice-versa, and what was your experience? I basically always sit my tablet on a surface when I watch stuff on it, so weight isn't really an issue. OLED is a requirement (mini-LED laptops are still very expensive, and LED laptops mostly have terrible screens). Thanks!
