Asking for godly advice...
Shalom brethren,
I'm seeking advice. I'm a bit worried because my wife is pregnant with our first child (well, second child; I'll explain), and we have no financial stability as of now. I'm physically handicapped in all of my limbs. I have pretty bad muscle atrophy, and it's progressive (slowly though, Praise Yah). My mom noticed that I would walk on the sides of my feet when I was just a year old (this was the first sign of something abnormal). Eventually, as I aged my diagnosis progressed (I've not mentioned the diagnosis because I've never been officially diagnosed), and by 3rd grade my hands and arms began to atrophy (I used to be able to snap my fingers, but I lost that ability and I also had to relearn how to hold a pencil and write; I was held-back from 3rd grade because of my progression to my arms).
Today, my legs are literally skin n' bones, and I am completely paralyzed from my knees down (no movement at all in my calf and feet). My hands aren't completely paralyzed but most movement is gone (like, I can't straighten my fings; I can only squeeze), and my forearms are skin n' bones. I wear AFO's on both on my legs to assist me in walking (praise Yah that I can still walk).
Anyway, I say all that to illustrate how hard it is to obtain and maintain a job. Recall, both my legs and arms are effected; thus, it makes finding a job almost impossible. This is mentally exhausting. I don't know what to do especially with a child on the way. I need advice. What jobs can I do? Accommodations?
The reason I said, "technically second child" is because my wife was pregnant last summer bit it ended in a early miscarriage and she was wrecked; physically in a lot of pain and mental trauma. She had to remove herself from her job because of this event. She is struggling a bit with the current pregnancy as in mental distress; she doesn't want to die giving birth. We both are a little intimated of the idea of being new parents.
Again, I'm asking for prayers and advice for jobs and/or accommodations. As a bonus, if you are a parent, we would love godly parenting advice. Thank you! Blessings to you from us both.
