I had sclerotherapy done three years ago—just one session. In the second photo, I marked the area that was treated. Not only did it not fully go away, but about a year ago, a new vein appeared just below that same spot and it has even started bulging a little.

I went back to the same doctor who treated me, but he was very dismissive and said, “You just have thin skin, it’s normal, you can do another round.” He did diagnose mild venous insufficiency though.

I later saw a second doctor who said the problem is the first doctor only did cosmetic treatment and didn’t close the feeding vein (GSV), which is why the results didn’t last. But the original doctor insists it’s just thin skin and nothing serious and honestly, the only reason he agreed to do another round of sclerotherapy was because I pushed for it—not because he saw any real issue.

I was diagnosed with mild venous insufficiency and I’ve had conflicting opinions from two doctors. One recommended EVLA for both GSV and SSV, while the other said it’s not necessary and that my skin is just thin and fair, making the veins more visible.

Here’s a photo of my leg—do you think it looks normal, or should I be more concerned? Also, has anyone had good cosmetic results with sclerotherapy for veins that look like this?
