Installing a new Printer on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. OMG Why is this so hard?

Every time I get a new printer I spend days trying to make it work and it's always a mystery how I get it to work. My old printer, an HP, just stopped working after an update, and I got fed up and ordered a Canon TR8620a with an Ethernet port thinking it would be easier. Once again in my case I was proven wrong.

Ubuntu sees the printer on wi-fi, but the printer is nowhere to be found and cannot locate it.

I downloaded the drivers tar.gz and extracted them, but I cannot find a tutorial that simply lays out how to install the driver or get the system to recognize the printer via terminal or any other way.

Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
