What program would help me become a quant? - High school student
Hey everyone, just to let you know, this is my first post here, and I'm open to any feedback
So I'm a high school student in Canada, Ontario going into grade 12 next year, and I'll have to apply to universities around october - novermber ish..
After uni, I wanna become a quant, like a quant trader, so I have gathered a few programs that I feel like would point me in the right direction
University of Waterloo
- Math (Applied, Pure, etc.)
- Computational Mathematics
-Computing and Financial Management (CFM)
- Data science
-Mathematical Finance
-Math/FARM
University of Toronto - UTSG
- Math (Applied, Pure, etc.)
- Data science
-Engineering Mathematics, Statistics, and Finance
- Mathematical Applications in Economics and Finance
Wilfrid Laurier
- Double degree BBA (Laurier) Math (uwaterloo)
- Financial Mathematics and Analytics
These are the unis I'm aiming for next year. What programs are gonna steer me towards becoming a quant? Any tips or suggestions are welcome.
P.S. Thinking of becoming a quant in Toronto, and how hard is it to go into the US to get a quant job with a Canadian university degree?
thanks !!
