Wood Glue or Super Glue for small repair?
I've chiselled out a 1/2" dado that's 90% perfect. But I got a little too eager and rushed it and ended up chiseling out just a little too much on the far side. This has created a noticeable gap when I slot in the mating piece of wood.
I want to fix this, so I thought I would cut a small wedge of wood slide into the dado and fill in this overlay chiseled spot. I doubt I can cut the wedge to perfect size, so I would chisel it back down to the perfect flat depth (being more cautious this time)
But, I'm worried about using the chisel on this patch job. The wedge will not have a lot of surface area to glue down (1/2" x 3/4" about). I'd be concerned the patch will just pop out as I chisel it. Possibly ripping out some of the underlying dado with it, and making the problem worse.
Would normal wood glue or super glue be a better option for this sort of patch job? I think super glue would do better with the smaller surface area, but I wonder if it would be too brittle?
