I have a co-resident who literally copies everything I do, from the way I write my notes, to how I structure things, even down to my fellowship interests. First they were suddenly all about one specialty as soon as I mentioned it… and now that I’m leaning toward something else, they’ve magically decided that’s their “passion” too. It’s not even subtle. It feels like a Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V situation. What bothers me most is there’s zero acknowledgment, just straight up mirroring and pretending it was their idea all along. Has anyone dealt with this before? How do you manage the irritation and set boundaries without creating unnecessary drama?
