Is LinkedIn useful when becoming a Teacher?

Hello Everyone! I am an undergraduate student planning to become a Chemistry Teacher in Alberta!

As I am in university, everyone I know who is not in Education has a LinkedIn and is on there all the time to create connections for getting a future job.

As current/future Teachers, do you guys have LinkedIn? Has that helped you? Is this something I should have when developing my career?
