1999 ST1100 Value

Neighbor is done riding and looking to sell his motorcycle. 140k miles and bad alternator. He’s not planning to fix it before selling and I’m interested. What’s a reasonable offer for this bike?

JD Power shows $1,600-$10k depending on condition. Bike looks great considering the miles and age, but the alternator will be a major contributing factor. I’m imagining about $2k, but does anyone have any insight or opinions? Thanks!
