Hello from Australia

A cold Friday morning here in Australia and all I can say is that this group has gotten me to day 6 of not drinking.

I am fairly new to this small coastal town and I don't really know any people here. But I am hoping that further on when I learn to walk a life with no wine making me stumble and fall that I will be able to meet some friends and feel like a normal part of a community.

Just coming on here and reading your posts yesterday afternoon stopped me from drinking. Even though the craving really only lasted about 15 minutes it was like a punch to the face. But I DID NOT DRINK.

I will continue to log in, read and post if I'm struggling or if I've had a milestone I want to share. It's funny how sometimes sharing with strangers is easier than letting the people I know and love find out about my struggles.
