What color best hides imperfections

Got this one bedroom appartment the wall is like super rough I did get some work dome like to flatten amd make it smoother and also fixed most of the wall edges they were tge worst. I want to paint the walls a color that hides imperfections yes there are unevenness and roughness and cracks on the wall wanted to keep new dry wall but that has to wait until August when I get the cash for it. Any color recommendations am thinking black
