Blue Chip Club/Room Upgrade - Captains Club Points?

I have a cruise coming up that I upgraded to a Sky Suite from a comp Veranda room. The Veranda room was from a Blue Chip Club offer. I paid for the upgrade at booking, not via Move Up.

This is the first time I’ve upgraded a Blue Chip Club offer. Will I receive 8 points per night for Captains Club status for the Sky Suite, or will it be based upon the original Veranda?

I know if you use Move Up you do not get the points of the room you moved to but I wasn’t sure if since I paid the difference outright whether I should expect to get the full amount or not. I’ve done many Blue Chip cruises but this is the first time we’ve upgraded.

I called Blue Chip and did not get a clear answer. If you’ve done this previously please let me know your experience, thank you!
